Philadelphia Fed index went to positive territory in December, 21 2012

Philadelphia Fed index improved its reading to the positive 8.1 in December from -10.7 in November and it is above the negative reading of 1.8, which had been expected. This is the best reading since April and it came from an increase in the index of new orders by 15 points and index increase of the current supply by 25 points.

House prices in the U.S. increased by a seasonally adjusted 0.5 percent in October, according to a report from the Federal Housing Finance Agency released on Thursday. In comparison with the previous year, prices are up by 5.6%, according to the index of the prices of homes FHFA, which is based on data from Fannie Mae mortgages, or Freddie Mac.
