Base Currencythis is the currency according to which other currencies are quoted from a particular currency pair. For example, if you have the CAD/USD currency pair, the Canadian dollar would be the base currency and the U.S. dollar would be the quote currency. The price shows how much of the quote currency you need to get one unit of the base currency.
